A genetically determined insertion/deletion-related polymorphism of the TCRB locus, including the functional Vβ7.2 variable gene segment, has been described. Thus, the expression of the Vβ7.2 allele product may not be expressed in some individuals (Vβ7.2 deleted/Vβ7.2 deleted haplotypes).
